At a lot of companies, when you work a shift other than 7-3 etc. you get a pay increase, but i think that depends on the company. At my b/f's job each sequential shift gets paid .50 more than the preceding one.
It depends on where you work and what kind of work you do. A travelling nurse (which can be a CNA) and working in a hospital–you get paid a lot more than working in a nursing home. It also depends on the company and the city and state. Here in GA travelling get paid around 11-13, hospital 11-13 (especially if you work PRN status, fancy word for part-time), and nursing home 8-9.
But, you should definitely check out the occupational outlook handbook and you can check out this stuff by the career.
