Well I'm a medical assisting student and I'll be graduating in may. MA's and CNA's differ greatly in both duties and work location. As a medical assistant you work in a physician's office and assist with routine exams, vaccinations, blood draws, etc. CNA's work in hospitals or assisted living facilities, and they primarily work with the aging population to assist with wound care and personal hygeine (nail clipping, batheing, adult diaper changing). So you have to think about what suits your personality and interests more. CNA's usually get paid a LITTLE more than MA's and go to school for less time but think about their responsibilites–changing dressings and dealing with feces is why they get more money.
