First lets work on some definitions - CNA - Cert.Nursing Assistent read:adult diaper changer and butt wiper. And I dont believe you can get a cna assignment that is specific to pediatrics.Unless of course if its at Boston Childrens. But I digress.
There are several schools that offer nursing courses,Umass most certainly does.BU has Sargent School of Allied Health - Tufts has the dental program.
A friendly piece of advice - and one that I gave to a person in your very position - go work for a group home - either MR/DD or other setting.Get your CRMA - more useful than a CNA - and any GOOD company will pay you to do your certificate.Seriously, its a good way to get to know if you can do the work - before investing several thousand dollars in an education that your not sure you want. Its all about the people, and thats what it sounds like you need - people face time.
Good luck.
