Two months of fairly intensive training. Classroom, lab and on the job clinical work. Two more weeks for HHA certification (home health). Textbooks for the VN and RN students and prerequisite classes for those programs are also recommended as the more you know the better.
Very little money. Published stats on payrolls look very inflated to me. Industry in this area not providing raises and companies lie about raises during the hiring process. Incompetent staff means lawsuits and drastically inflated liability insurance. Competent staff means spending more on payroll. Industry seems to be shooting for minimum wage, but $8-$10 is normal. Good luck.
